PLEASE QSL OM
I have always enjoyed receiving QSL cards.
It does not matter if they are from across town or the other
side of the world. They all are appreciated and have the
same value to me. I enjoy looking over my novice QSLs which
are displayed on my shack wall and remembering the day when
my sweaty fist from being so nervous on the J38
straight key was my link to the world. Then the first QSL
card arrived, it was from a fellow across town ( hi ). I
still have it and enjoy re-reading his comments .
Through the years I have collected many
cards, which I estimate to be somewhere around the 5,000
mark but too lazy to count them. If I had to space to
display all of them on my shack walls I would, yet with
three walls presently covered in QSLs I am only displaying a
small percentage of my collection. The QSLs on the wall,
just makes a room a hamshack in my opinion.
Through the years many changes in this hobby have taken
place, licensing requirements change almost regularly,
equipment changes as technology progresses, yet the original
paper QSL remains today as it was in the beginning. It is
one of the very few things in this hobby which is original.
To the clubs, nets and individuals who still accept only
paper QSLs my hat is off to you. Your keeping a tradition
alive.
Remember, PLEASE QSLS OM, future generations will be glad
you did.
I do not accept any type of
electronic QSL
